Donald Dooyema, born October 3, 1958, born in Minnesota and raised in Sumas, WA, sadly passed Sunday April 28, 2024, peacefully in his own home. As he spent his life roaming the United States as a truck driver for 30+ years, he met some of his closest friends and decided to finally settle in Lynden. Apart from his everyday activities, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Seahawks on the weekends and being with his family when he could.
Don will be remembered by his three children, Dawnell, 25, Abigale (Abbey), 21, and Daniel (Danny), 20, all of Pennsylvania; his father and mother Harvey (who sadly passed 2008) and Rolena Dooyema of Lynden (formerly of Sumas); his brothers and sisters, Rose Hougen and husband Mike of Washington, Emilee Van Beek and husband Loren of Sumas, WA, Hermina McNeil and Ed (may he rest in peace) of Oak Harbor, WA, his twin brother, Ronald Dooyema of Lynden, WA, and Elmer Dooyema and wife Julie of Washington.
