Dolores Arline Train

May 10, 1936 — March 20, 2026

Ferndale, WA

It is with heavy hearts we share the news of the passing of our mom, Dolores Train.

Born May 10th, 1936, she lived a full and beautiful life, passing away peacefully in the Bellingham Hospice House March 20th at the age of 89. She grew up in the Oregon and Seattle areas. She shared 68 years of marriage with Dad, previously deceased November 10th, 2022. She lived most of her life on the Dairy Farm off Kickerville Road in Ferndale. She was a supportive Farmers wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, great-grandma, grandma and friend. In her earlier years she could be found cooking up a storm in the kitchen depending on the season while managing a busy household. She worked in the family store on the property selling its milk and cheeses that made up Pleasant Valley Dairy. She enjoyed crafts like sewing and quilting. In their retirement years, Mom and Dad travelled to Arizona every winter for a decade. They loved the sunshine and blue skies of Arizona. While Dad enjoyed playing cornhole and baseball. Mom enjoyed being his number one fan. When the games were through, they’d share special times with good friends. She liked to play the piano and they would often sing Christian hymns together at the end of a workday. The memory of their music will always bring comfort and a smile to our faces. The hope it inspired made for a balanced life between the good times and hard times that make up life.

They shared a faith that gave purpose to this life on earth and the hope of a shared future in heaven. They often prayed for friends and family during daily devotionals. They shared a deep desire that everyone would experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ for themselves in their own lives. Dad and Mom completed each other. These past years without Dad left yet another hole in Mom’s heart that was difficult to mend. All those holes caused from the death and loss of friends and family are now finally filled again. For we know that heaven is a place without sorrow and tears. She isn’t alone but joining all her family and friends for eternity in heaven. Maybe she is playing the piano for a hymn sing? We can only imagine.
