Dennis Neil Genrich, Jr.

April 13, 1973 — September 15, 2022

Blaine, WA

Dennis Neil (who was soon to be called his middle name of ‘Neil’ to family and friends) was born to Dennis Neil Genrich and Patricia Walker.  At a very early age Neil was to become a welcomed and much loved member of a family from Northern California which became his Lifetime Family.  After spending seven years of very frequent moves with his Dad and I which involved new schools (often) and various attempts at home schooling in a time when it was not fashionable, Neil and I settled in Maple Falls, where we had a property near by.  Neil made so many lifelong friends during this wonderful time in his life.  Staying put suited him!  During later years, Dennis was certificated in welding.  He was very proud of this accomplishment and rightly so as this was achieved during incarceration. There is nothing that made Dennis more proud though than the birth in 2020, right smack in the middle of the pandemic, of his cherished and long hoped for child, his son Kavares Danger Genrich. He is the son of Rachel Scott and he is blessed with two brothers and a sister. The best older brothers and sister on Planet Earth.  Justin is 15, Samantha is 13, and Mason is 11 years old.  They all reside with their Mom, Rachel Scott, in Ferndale. Dennis hoped to offer Rachel and all the Kids that he loved so the life he felt they deserved.  He wanted to be married and raise their son together.  This was not meant to be, at least not in this lifetime.  Dennis was suddenly and violently taken from us when he was the pedestrian in a vehicle/pedestrian accident that took place just as it was dawning on a new day, the 15th of September 2022.  Agony ensued for all the many who loved him and now are left with broken hearts.  Left to go on without our Beloved are his Mom, Marianne Elgart, and her Husband, Wade Travler of Bellingham, Washington; his Aunt Gerri of Bellingham and Aunts Glenda Staggs and Elizabeth Jennings both of whom reside in Sonoma County, California.  Neil had several cousins who he loved - most especially Tationna Graham.  She and her partner Jon have recently brought an adored addition to our family.  His name is Kyrie and at 17 months old he has charmed his way into our hearts forever! On his Dad’s side he leaves to grieve Laura Bauer of North Highland as well as his Cousins Skye Blue and Rosalia.  Mary Helen also left grown children, Neil’s cousins.  Dennis was so happy to learn of his sister Penny of California. They were able to enjoy a sweet relationship.   His Walker side of the family also includes some recently found family members that Dennis was so delighted to connect with.  These include his Aunt TJ of Washington and his sister Sarah of Wyoming.  Also left are several other close family members that he did not get a chance to know. Very special to Neil is Ryan Hamilton of Skagit County.  Neil considered ‘Ry” to be his little brother and they loved each other very much.  Dennis leaves behind so many lifelong cherished friends.  Heidi, Kira, Monica, Lovisa, Judy…  Shane and Jesse, Lil Joe and Steve F. I sure hope all of you know who you are!  This list is so very short in comparison to all those that Dennis truly loved, in the purest sense of the word.  From every ‘walk’ of life, every age and physical ability or lack thereof they came. Ethnicity was considered by Dennis probably the least important thing about who a person was.  Fact that.  I never knew who or what wonderful, different, very unique Humanoid or critter may be coming by “to visit” at any given time.  Sometimes they came together.  Human and critter.   So beautiful and authentic… some gone way too early.  Johnny Bidwell you broke our hearts and sadly so many others have gone prematurely. Ones who went before include his Grandparents, John and Helen Elgart of Rohnert Park, CA.  Also his Uncle Johnny from Rohnert Park.  Neil’s Father, Dennis Genrich passed away in spring 1997 while working in Texas.  His father’s folks, Donald and Lillian Genrich of Long Beach as well as his Aunt Mary Helen ( Hairy Melon ) and Uncle David, (Uncle Demon) all of Southern California, predeceased him.  We lost Jeff Graham, his cousin, tragically as well, only a year and a half ago. Jeff was way too young also and we continue to grieve for him…And so Son, we wait to be reunited - for our Lord promised us this! Dennis Neil Genrich Junior, you are and will be eternally loved.
