David Weston Langley

David Weston Langley, age 82, was born October 11, 1935, Sumas, Washington to Genevieve (Bridge) and James Weston Langley. Entered heaven peacefully on January 17, 2018 while at Silverado Memory Care in Bellingham, WA.  Graduated from Nooksack Valley High School 1954.  Western Washington College of Education 1958.  Pacific Coast Banking School 1973.  He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 2 years Quantico, VA and Camp LaJuenne, NC.  He married Mary Louise Jernigan in 1960 in Dunn, NC. They had two daughters, Lisa and Susan.  Mary Louise died in a car accident and Dave married Joyce (Blankers) Douma in 1972 in Lynden, WA.  Joyce had three children, Rachelle, Shawn and Heidi. Dave started his banking career at Peoples National Bank in Seattle. He worked at branches in Redmond, Tacoma, West Renton and Burien.  He left Peoples after 16 years to become CEO of Community Bank of Renton.  He was elected President of The Washington Bankers Assn. from 1984-1985.  He was the Chairman and CEO of National Bank of Tukwila from 1989-1995.  He retired to Lake Whatcom and enjoyed travel, NRA conventions, watching sporting events, cruises, trips to California, Arizona and Florida and times spent at his Maui condo.

Dave is survived by Joyce, his wife of 45 years. Children; Lisa (Dave) Peterson of Renton, Susan (Ken) Warren of Washougal, Rachelle (Pino) Langley Baldassarre of Lynden and Indialantic, FL, Shawn (Clarissa) Langley of Lynden, Heidi (Howard) Boren of Renton.  Grandkids; Kelsey (Ben) Shively, Cory (Fi Mirante) Peterson, Larisa (Jason) Radcliffe, Rachel (Callum) Stone, Joshua and Stephen Warren, Cassidy and Kenny Langley and Max Boren. Brothers; Neal (Mary) Langley of Bellingham and Bruce (Lynn) Langley of Birch Bay, nieces, nephews and friends. 

Dave’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 27 at 1:00 pm at Spring Creek Bible Church, 567 E. Kellogg Road, Bellingham 98226.  Pastor Steve Balvanz officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Lighthouse Mission, 910 W. Holly St, Bellingham, 98225.
