David A. Hood

David A. Hood, age 52, of Bellingham, went to be with his Lord Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Whatcom Hospice House of Bellingham. He was born September 7, 1960 in Juneau, Alaska to Leslie Roy and Ella Geraldine (Compton) Hood. David graduated from Eureka High School in Eureka, California, and received AA Degree at the College of the Redwoods and also at The Salvation School for Officer Training, God’s Messengers Session at Rancho Palos Verdes, California. He married Jan Marie White October 12, 1985 in Bellingham. David served with the Salvation Army for many years in Idaho, Oregon, Hawaii and Washington. In Bellingham he worked at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in various capacities and was the Christmas Kettle Coordinator for many years. David was preceded in death by his father Leslie, brother Jim and a son Leslie and is survived by his wife Jan of 27 years; sons, David II and Michael Hood; mother, Gerry Hood; sister, Sharon King; brother, Ken Hood and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial celebration of his life will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM, at the Salvation Army Chapel, 2912 Northwest Ave., Bellingham with Major James Lloyd officiating.
