David Gene Hill

David Gene Hill age 61 of Bellingham, Washington fell asleep the morning of October 29, 2017 following a brief, difficult battle with cancer, and is now in the arms of God. He was surrounded at his home by his devoted wife and loved ones.

David was born October 11, 1956 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Walter and Doris Hill. In his youth he learned blues guitar and gave his life in service to God. In May of 2001 he married Wende Johnson of Apple Valley, MN. They had one beautiful son together. David was a loving father, husband, and friend. He was best known for his quirky humor and quiet, gentle, and humble manner. He was tender hearted and compassionate, and enjoyed “walking with God” to bless people. He will fondly be remembered by friends and family for his prayers for them, love for music, and talent to play Christian blues with such excitement and passion.

David was preceded in death by his beloved son Mac, his father Walter, mother Doris, and nephew Alex. Until the Resurection, David will forever live on in the hearts of his wife Wende, siblings Denise (Ron) Pfau, Diana Hill, Doreen Moorehead; parents-in-law Darell and Joyce Johnson, brothers/sisters-in-law Dave (Colleen) Johnson, Jeane Johnson, John (Whitney) Johnson, Rebecca (Lee Gilmore) Johnson and many nieces, nephews, and countless true friends.

An open house in remembrance of David will be held on Friday November 3 from 5-8 PM at the Squalicum Boathouse in Bellingham, WA. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Cremation services have been entrusted to Sig's Funeral and cremation services of Bellingham.
