Dave Tucker

Kenneth David Tucker, age 79, passed peacefully from the earth to the Lord on March 8^th, surrounded by loving family. He always went by “Dave” because of a mistake made on his birth certificate where he was born in Ronald, Washington, May 16, 1933. We could tell if someone knew Dad by what name they called him. Dave grew up in Roslyn, Washington and Nyssa, Oregon. Dave met his future bride, Sherryl, on a blind date and they married in 1959. They raised two daughters, Lisa and Lori, in Lynnwood, Washington.

The joys of Dave’s life were fishing, boating, hunting, good food and Sea Hawk games. But mostly fishing! Most of his working life was as a captain on the Washington State Ferries. He enjoyed family camping trips, all types of fishing and travelling with Sherryl.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife Sherryl and now has joined her in heaven. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Leoso and Doug Larson, daughter Lori and Bob Miller, sister Barbara Chase and sister Vergie Prescott, brother Daniel and Joanne Tucker, grandson Robby Miller, granddaughter Layne Larson, grandson Keni Leoso, great-granddaughter Ateena Leoso, grandson D.J. and Stephanie Leoso and great-granddaughter Alyssa Leoso and many other family and friends.

A memorial celebration of his life, with family and friends will be held Saturday, March 16^th, at the Whidbey Island Eagles, 16691 Hwy. 525, at 2:00.
