It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Darin Cooper, who left us on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the age of 43. He has been reborn into a gentler and peaceful world.
Darin was a cherished son, a devoted brother, friend and father to William, and a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He was born on July 31, 1982 in Bellingham, WA, and from an early age, he brought joy, curiosity, and love into our world.
He had a passion for trains, bikes and road trips, and was known for his kindness and being obnoxious. Whether he was working on his bikes or trains, he had a way of making those around him feel special and loved.
Above all, Darin will be remembered for being himself. His memory will live in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
He is survived by his loving mom, Deborah Zoutendyk; brothers Charles (Lisa), Byron (Jessica) and Augustus; nephews, Joshua, Austin, Blake, Remy, Roman and his nieces, Julia, Alexys, Hailee and Shyanne.
He was preceded in death by his beloved companion Andy, Father (Royallen Cooer) stepfather (Leonard Zoutendyk)
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2026, 12:00 Noon at Lakeway Estates Clubhouse, 1200 Lincoln St., Bellingham, WA 98229. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Whatcom Human Society, in honor of Darin.
Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain with us always.
