Damon Klyver Newsom

May 4, 1992 — February 11, 2020

Damon Klyver Newsom

Damon was born on May 4, 1992 in Fresno California.  He attended Pacific Union Elementary School and graduated from Washington Union High School in 2010.  He attended Fresno City College and was a certified Emergency Medical Technician.  He was an accomplished musician and played in numerous bands in the Fresno area.  He was an avid cyclist and mountain biker.

In January 2019 he started a new chapter in his life by relocating to Bellingham Washington to the delight of his cousins and aunt and uncle.  He made it his new home.  He took great pleasure in snowboarding and enjoyed new friendships made while working at the Mt. Baker Ski Area his first winter there.  He developed new friends and discovered the numerous trails of Whatcom County. As recent as Thanksgiving he was videotaped saying he was most thankful for his mom, his brother, his Washington family and his bike!  Most recently, he was employed as an assembly specialist at Skid Steer Solutions. All family and friends are shocked by his sudden death and are grieving him.

Damon is survived by his mother, Nancy of Fresno CA; his brother Sydney and partner, Andrea Turner, of Santa Cruz CA; his maternal grandfather, Gilbert Nagel of Fresno CA; maternal aunts and uncles:  JoAnne and Ken Campbell of Fowler Ca; Bette and Gary Mitchell of Blaine WA; paternal grandfather, Pete Newsom of Arizona; paternal aunts and uncles: David and Suzanne Newsom of Sanger CA; Rick and Lisa Newsom of Fresno CA; Carol and Greg Peters of McComb MS; and numerous cousins.

In Damon’s memory, please remember:

Always be kind, always be patient.
Always love and always care.
No matter who you are, we are all human beings
and deserve to be happy, accepted, and most importantly, loved.

He has no idea how much he was loved and will be missed.
