Dale L. Siebert

Dale Leslie Siebert, age 80, of Bellingham passed away in Bellingham, Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.  He was born in Spring Valley, Illinois, June 22, 1936 to Walter H. and Grace A. (Monroe) Siebert.  His family moved to Southern California when he was 9 years old. Dale attended San Bernardino High School and served in the USAF, stationed in Iceland and George AFB.  September 2, 1961 he married Carol Ann Carmichael.  Theirs sons are Lance K. Siebert (USAF, retired) of  Wichita Falls, Texas and Brian Lester Siebert and wife, Cindy of Loveland, Colorado;  granddaughters, Erica Lee Fowler and husband Jon of Belleville, Illinois, Darby Lureé Holbert-Siebert and fiancé Alex Harmon of Wichita Falls, Texas, Emma Marie and Mia Janea Siebert of Loveland, CO; great granddaughter Sofia Michelle Fowler of Illinois;  three sisters survive; Althea Sexton of Washington, Dolores Douglas and Irma Lowe of California and numerous nieces and nephews.  Dale was preceded by his parents, brother, Wayne Siebert and sister Lois Chaseley and daughter-in-law, Michelle Holbert-Siebert.   Dale and his wife were married for 55 years and have resided in Bellingham for 25 years.  Prior to coming to Washington, they lived in Estes Park, Colorado and Southern California.  Dale worked mainly in construction his whole life, mostly as a carpenter.  He enjoyed helping and doing for others, especially his family and ‘older’ folks.  He enjoyed traveling whenever possible.  After a work related accident in 2005 which resulted in a spinal cord injury, he was a real trooper in coping with all the ramifications involved.  A local service is not planned.  Burial is being arranged for a later time.  The family would be grateful for a memorial gift to any of the following:  Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, 636 Morris Turnpike Suite 3A, Short Hills, NJ 07078 (They are dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy.); University of Washington Foundation, Box 358045, Seattle, WA  98195, designated for SCI Research;  Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC  28201.  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)  This promise is a great comfort to Dale’s family knowing that he has gone to be with Jesus.  We love you and will miss you.
