George Henry Miller Sr., 84, of Oak Harbor WA, was called home peacefully in his sleep after an extensive battle with Congestive Heart Failure, on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
He was born in Seguin, TX on February 1, 1942, to Jimmy and Mary Miller, the youngest of fourteen siblings. George attended Ball High School before joining the United States Navy, on September 13, 1960. George served in the Navy on several different vessels and in the Vietnam War. He earned the rank of US Navy Chief before retiring on January 31, 1981. In retirement, he attended Skagit Valley College and earned an associate's degree in Electronics, landing him a job with Boeing. He was an impeccable example of great work ethic, strength, loyalty, self-sacrifice for others, thirst for knowledge, disciplined, tolerant, accepting and loving. George was successful in making these values and more a core part of his family for several generations. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
George was also an extremely creative, passionate, and talented man. He loved to immerse himself in hobbies, flawlessly crafting several wooden furnishings, and was a collector of many things from a young age, like rocks, rare wood, and coins. His creations and collections were showcased throughout the homes of his family and friends. Another passion of his was crafting and cultivating his garden; he created a place of peace and love.
