Charles Robert Lemmel

June 11, 1965 — September 1, 2023

Bellingham, WA

Charles was born 6/11/65 in Rapid City SD and passed peacefully and pain free on 9/1/23 at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, WA.  He leaves behind his beloved son Jonah (mom Lisa Hogan) brother John (Kellie) Lemmel and nephew Austin, sister Stephanie (Shawn) Bohannan, mother Darla Norman, many special relatives and friends.

Char grew up in Whatcom County.  He was a graduate of Meridian High School and attended Phoenix Institute of Technology (PIT). He worked for Continental Airlines and managed an automotive parts and supply store before starting his own auto body business in Clearwater, FL.  He had earned notebooks full of work-related certificates.  He loved his work and strived to “be the best”.  Participating in a student mentorship program was very rewarding for Char.

Char’s many interests included things that go fast or high.He enjoyed motorcycles, snowboarding, flying airplanes and in-line kites. He built and drove his own race cars at many east coast venues.  He was also an avid fisherman, explorer and researcher.  Char enjoyed music, working out and weight training, biking, fixing things, helping others, cooking, animals and a good joke.  He was always ready for the next adventure and rarely met a stranger.  Being a good dad to Jonah, the light of his life, gave him the most delight and awe. His sensitivity, curiosity, ambition, quick wit and laughter will surely be missed.

Char’s family has planned a private life celebration to honor their dearly loved dad, brother, uncle, son, nephew and friend.
