Amy I. Geise

Amy Geise, age 84 of Bellingham passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John “Jack” Geise.  She is survived by her daughter Christina (Irma), sister-in-law Caroline Tarpley, nephew John (Mary Ann) Tarpley, and niece Julie Tarpley.

Amy was born January 15, 1939 in Ahrensburg, Germany to Paul and Johanna Benthien. She immigrated to the United States in 1962. Meeting Jack soon after and marrying in 1963. She officially became a US citizen in January 1967.

Amy had several different careers in her life.  One of her favorites was working for the Ventura County Maritime Museum when she was living in Oxnard, CA. After moving to Bellingham in 1993, she continued her museum work at the Whatcom Museum. Along with her museum work, she volunteered with the Alzheimer's Foundation and the Assistance League to name a few. She was a long time member of Bellingham Beta Sigma Phi, Victor Community Club and Squalicum Yacht Club.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
