Alec Schlemmer

Alec Schlemmer, age 87, of Bellingham as was his wish, passed from this life in his own bed at home. It was an easy passing clean and sweet in the moment.

Alec got his wishes in most of the things he cared about. He had a capacity to focus intently and in time see the subtle truth of things that is the difference between science and engineering.  Although he called himself an engineer, and the products of his life seemed engineered, in his heart he was a scientist.

The other power behind his wishes was his amazing heart. He had a huge capacity to care.  He cared about life, the work he did the, ideas he explored. He pushed hard for what he wanted to create because he really cared about it. Often his creations were brilliant.

He was a powerful force when he engaged, he will be missed.
