Welcome to the memorial page for

Joseph "Joe" James Spady

November 6, 1966 ~ October 1, 2017 (age 50)

Joseph “Joe” James Spady, age 50, of Bellingham, Washington lost his brief, but courageously fought battle with “Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma” on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Joseph was born, November 6, 1966 in Bellingham, Washington where he remained a lifelong resident.  He was the first born to parents; Donald James and Candace “Byrum” Spady. Joe is survived by his wife/best friend of 27 years; Tami Lynn Spady, four legged kids; Peaches, Lola, Oscar and Otis, Parents; Donald and Candice Spady, Brother, Ben Spady (Gwen), Nephew Kyle Spady (aka-Crackhead) and Niece Megan Spady (aka-Mega-Lugge) and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many many friends. Joe was preceded in death by both sets of Grandparents; Joseph Spady, Norma Coskey, Violet Halldorson (Eric) and George Byrum. Joe graduated from Bellingham High School in 1985 and held jobs as a Mechanic and Maintenance Person for UPS and Federal Express before landing his lifelong career in the Steel Fabrication Business. Joe joined the crew of “Krause Manufacturing” in March of 1989 and worked his way up to Shop Foreman. During a Company transition in 2011 to “CP Manufacturing” Joe continued on as Shop Foreman until joining his final employer “Blue Star Welding” in 2014.  Throughout ownership changes in the company, Joe was able to drive to the same location at “6059 Guide Meridian” for 28 years, never having to move his toolbox. Throughout his 28 years in the Steel Fabrication Business, Joe formed many great Friendships and was well respected for his hard work ethic, loyalty and get-er-done positive attitude and never complained. In his personal life, Joe with his wife Tami enjoyed Camping with their 4-legged kids and rescuing many cats and dogs over the years.  Joe had a big heart when it came to his fur babies and never said no to taking on “just one more” animal.  Joe was a true “Gear Head” and had need for speed which he passed on to his Nephew Kyle James (sorry Ben and Gwen). Joe was a die hard “Ford” guy and his motto was: “if it isn’t a rear wheel drive. V-8, then why bother. Joe was a private, simple man of few words, but once he met you, he truly loved you and a lifelong relationship was formed.  Joe’s life was all about family and friends and he cared deeply for everyone.  His heart. Love and Contagious Smile will forever be embedded in our hearts and souls until we shall see him again in Heaven. Rest in Peace my sweet Love. A celebration of life will be held on; Saturday, October 14th at 1:00 PM.  Location will be at the Johnson Family Home (Joe’s Aunt and Uncles) at 714 E.
